Discover Rwanda

There can be few more rewarding ways to help Rwanda build a brighter future than by visiting the colourful hubbub, culture and nightlife of Kigali, the rolling mountains of the Virunga National Park, or the peaceful shores of Lake Kivu.

Africa is often dismissed as the home of bad news, but Rwanda today is quite the opposite; peaceful, stable and increasingly prosperous. It would be naive to think that the legacy of the genocide can be ignored, but optimism is never far away in a land this beautiful.

Typified by the young dancers of the ‘Mashirika’ theatre group with their production ‘Hope for Africa’ (inset), a new generation celebrates a tradition that predates the divisions of the past century: Rwandan unity.
