Dr Jean Damascene Bizimana, the Minister of Unity and Civil Engagement is in Sweden where he participated in the Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism (Remember ReAct) where he represented President Paul Kagame.
Minister Bizimana participated alongside with Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, Dr Diane Gashumba. He also spoke to the media about the commonalities between the Holocaust and the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
The Holocaust was perpetrated by the NAZI with the intention to exterminate the Jews, which is in common with the Genocide against the Tutsi that was intended to exterminate the Tutsi. There are also several other commonalities for the two genocides from the intention to the means used in perpetration.
The forum that took place on started on 13th October 2021focuses on how the Holocaust is being minimized as Sweden commemorates the 20th anniversary of this annual forum on Holocaust commemoration
The forum brought together leaders from different parts of the world and the chair of the Malmö International Forum (remember ReAct) Marija Pejčinović Burić.
It was also graced by Heads of States like Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Emmanuel Macron of France, Ursula von der Leyen,President of the European Union and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who participated virtually.
